When a politician learned of this particular quirk, he used it to his advantage to woo the president. If you're looking to worm your way into Trump's inner circle then you may want to follow House majority leader Kevin McCarthy's lead.
In a story chronicling McCarthy's rise in Washington, both as Trump's friend and fixer, the Washington Post reported that McCarthy had an aide sort through a "plentiful supply" of Starbursts to select only the red and pink ones as a gift for the president.
